luscious

Sunday was a luscious day. The grass was green, the air was warm, the sky was a perfect shade of blue. I walked from our apartment, past all of the Marquette graduates, down to the lake where I read and people watched (more people watched than read, I must admit). After that, I strolled up to the store and bought a few items we needed and then walked home. I even fit a work out in there!

This week TOTALLY flew by. I cannot believe that it is Thursday night and tomorrow is a 1/2 day. HOORAY! I think it is about time that I finally get my Wisconsin driver’s license, don’t you think? I will probably go to the DMV tomorrow (way to use the half day, right?).

Work was pretty so-so this week – lots of drama I don’t care to repeat here. Frank has been gone most of this week in various places, so that’s kind of a bummer. Wait, let me put this in perspective, he has only been gone 1/2 of the week. Tomorrow he gets in at 10am and tomorrow night, we have a hot date. Doing what, I do not know, but it shall be hot. Or low to mid 60’s. Which is balmy for Milwaukee.

Other than work and church and Frank, things have been okay. My family is in a bit of chaos – also something I prefer not to share here – and I just found out some friends of mine from H.S. are getting a divorce. Divorce is never good, but at least they didn’t have children. This is the 4th divorce I have heard of this month. It really makes me think a lot about being dedicated to our marriage, spending time enjoying each other, and always finding ways to keep it fresh. Beyond all the “stuff” that goes with marriage, I think it is most important to have fun.

Speaking of fun – the other night FK was aggravating me in bed. (Not what you think) He was poking me and tickling me and all I wanted to do was go to bed. So I got out of the bed in a huff, walked out of the room and into the kitchen. For those of you who are unfamiliar with our apartment, there is a frosted window between the kitchen and the bedroom (bizarre, I know). I stood in front of this window and tapped my fingers on it. The nightlight in the hall made the whole scene eerie. Frank came out of the bedroom and that’s when I freaked myself out and started crying. Wow. I’m a big mess. Well, at least I’m married to FK and not me. That would be rough. 🙂

Last night FK and I went out with his friend Kupers. I had some DC with a cherry. Can you believe that your standard martini is about 200 calories? You could have 2 rice krispy treats or a beverage. Out of control.

Other than that – not a whole lot seems to be going on. This month is the 6 year anniversary of our first [failed] date. We saw Star Wars episode 1. Here we are, 6 years later, and the final episode will be released tonight at 11:59 pm CST.

I think that’s it. It’s cold, but I’m wearing a sundress anyway. I am protesting. It’s going to rain tonight, I think. Hrmph.

may & stuff…

FK is on a stand-up tonight. That means he flies for a while, gets a few hours of sleep and then flies home. And then sleeps some more. I decided to update my blog’s look, but HOLY COW, that took a stinking long time to get it to work how I wanted it.

Outside of some on-going family issues, things have been just peachy. Work just calmed down a bit last week, so that’s good. My dad is starting up a new business and he just had an outstanding week. He booked a bunch of people – awesome considering he is in week 2 of existence. He’s brilliant. Go Dad!!

Caitlin, my darling sister, graduated from college last weekend. I flew down to see it and to spend time with my family. OUT OF CONTROL. Very crazy family. It has been a while since we were all in one car for a prolonged period of time. I have no more to say about that either, other than that I still love my family. And that is proof that there is a God – where else would I have learned “in spite of” love?? 🙂 J/K. My family is great & I love them.

This weekend my cousin turns 21. She’s not the only one growing up and maturing : I finally managed to say, “Hey, I don’t think that I can volunteer at church, go to her 21st party over 1 1/2 hours away and then drive another 45 minutes to yet another party and still get up for a baptism the next morning.” Especially considering that my cousin’s party won’t get going until late. Note to self: You can’t do it all. The baptism, as you may be wondering, is for my darling niece, Julia Michelle. Julia and her brother, Luke, are the most adorable children ever. EVER. And this isn’t Auntie Insanity, it is fact. Ask Frank. He’ll even tell you that our niece and nephew are too cute. (when they are not puking on their uncle)

Anyway, next week we have the last of the TV upfronts (email me if you actually want to know what that means) for the Broadcast Networks. If you are interested in checking out what is going on with the Upfronts, check it out at Media Life or AdAge.

I’m so done. Have a good night! …. errr…. morning!

I’m Crazy.

Yes, there is no denying it. I can try to hide it but I just can’t fight it. I’m about to lose my mind and I think I like it… la la la…

Okay, I’m so done with that. Frank is out at Slim’s with VP and I was supposed to go to sleep an hour ago, but I just won’t. I know – common theme running here. We had small group tonight – I love those guys! We hadn’t seen a bunch of them in a while and I suppose sometimes distance makes the heart grow fonder, but it was so good to see them. 🙂

OK. brush teeth. Go to bed. I wish my mom was here. She had a really great way of telling me to go to bed. Come to think of it, when I was younger, it took several tries to get me to bed.

OK OK, I’m going to bed already.

Really.
